When LockDown Browser is used during an online exam, you are unable to go to other URLs, switch applications, take screenshots, copy questions or print. It essentially locks you into the exam until it’s submitted for grading.
Important: This application can only be used with certain learning systems and ONLY if your instructor has enabled the use of the “iPad edition” of LockDown Browser for the exam. If your instructor hasn’t enabled the use of the iPad edition of LockDown Browser, this application will NOT be of use to you.

How to bypass Lockdown browser on mac
Intro: This has only been tested on OSX, I don't know how to do this on windows.
Create a second user on your mac (if you don't have one already), set the password for the user to only one letter as you won't be able to type in long passwords.
Install Keyboard Maestro Editor
Create a Macro where you can trigger a fast user switch (I used double tap of the down arrow) Ti 84 software download, free.
Now, when you're in lockdown taking a test, you can simply trigger a fast user switch and be free to browse the internet or do anything you please without lockdown quitting.

Extra: I also created a Macro for a fast user switch in the second user in order to quickly go back to lockdown browser and a macro for copying down my system clipboard to a file, in order to have the questions available to view when in the second user.
